LIBRARY POLICIES

Return School Life  |  Return Home

Library Cards: All HAMC students in ECC through 8th grade are issued library cards which are kept in the library so they are easily accessible.

Library Classes: The library is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.  ECC students come to the library for story time every week.  Kindergarten through 5th grade come to the library every week for a lesson on library and research skills and to enhance the curriculum.

Checking Out Books:  Each student in kindergarten through 5th grade may check out two books at a time; ECC students may check out one book at a time.  The student is expected to return the book the next time his/her class comes to the library.  Students may not check out another book until the first one is returned.  Middle school students (Gr. 6, 7, & 8) may take out more than one book at a time (at the Librarian’s discretion).

Returning Books:  Students are expected to return their books on time.  They are responsible for seeing that their books are brought to the library with them at their scheduled class time.  Of course, if the book is needed longer, it can be renewed. Overdue notices are sent to the student if a book is not returned.

Lost or Damaged Books:  All lost or damaged books must be paid for, with the cost of the book to be determined by the librarian.  Once the lost book is paid for, the student may once again borrow books from the library.  If the book is found at any time, the paid money will gladly be refunded.  If lost books or fines are not paid for by the end of the school year, the final report card will be held until all fines are paid.
